Waiting for Butterflies, by Karen Sargent, available April 4, 2017

Waiting for Butterflies is available for pre-order at retailers and on-line in paperback for $15.95 and as an e-book for $9.99. Waiting for Butterflies is an inspirational story of how a mother’s love cannot be stopped, even by her death.

When a car accident takes Maggie Blake’s life, her love for her husband and daughters allows her to linger on. Maggie’s husband, Sam, is consumed by guilt, as he juggles the dual roles of dad and detective. Her teenage daughter Rachel secretly believes she is responsible for her mother’s death and resorts to poor coping strategies. Only her youngest daughter, Olivia, can sense Maggie’s presence. Although limited by her family’s grief and her state of existence, Maggie is determined to keep a sacred promise and save her family from dangers that threaten.

Waiting for Butterflies is Karen Sargent’s first novel, but she knows fiction inside and out. She has an M.A. in Teaching Rhetoric and Composition and 23 years of experience teaching literature and writing at the high school and college levels. She is a member of the Missouri Writers’ Guild and American Christian Fiction Writers. In addition to serving multiple terms as president of regional and state English teachers’ associations, Karen has presented at numerous English and education conferences. She has received various teaching awards including the Robert J. Greef Award from the Missouri Association of Teachers of English, Southeast MO English Teacher of the Year, and the Heartland’s Best Teacher Award from KFVS-TV.
